John Whaley Jr. resides and works in Houston. New to the art profession and having no formal art education or training, John’s mural entitled “Beauty Lies Deep Within” received 3rd place at The Mural Project @ CityCentre. John is one of a growing number of artists with raw & undiscovered talent whose fan base support the movement of urban art murals in Houston.

Whaley tries to approach a wide scale of subjects in a multi-layered way, and likes to involve the viewer. His paintings directly respond to the surrounding environment and uses everyday experiences as a starting point. He enjoys creating paintings, photos, and mixed media artworks.
